RESTORATION BOAT

Chancegger

Designed by Britton Chance Jr in 1969, commissioned by Baron Bich, and built by Hermann Egger in Switzerland. It was used by France for the construction of France I, which competed in the America's Cup trials of 1972. This was because the rules at that time did not allow the designer and builder to be non-French.This 12m was found in Australia, completely modified, and thanks to its current owner who sailed it to Burma for a total restoration, it returned to being a 12m and to compete in the Mediterranean against its peers. At M Boats, the entire hull was sheathed in mahogany and varnished at the owner's request, in addition to checking and improving all onboard systems.

Characteristics:

  • Length overall: 19.13 m
  • Waterline length: 14.40 m
  • Beam: 3.76 m
  • Draft: 2.57 m
  • Displacement: 27 tons
